WEST LAFAYETTE, IN - AUGUST 31, 2024: Purdue had a dominating opening game performance winning 49-0. A warm late summer day found the Boilermakers get hot early and keep the heat on. Their Air Raid system started to show itself as Senior quarterback, Hudson Card (1), tied an FBS completion record of 96% by going 24 of 25 for 273 yards and four touchdowns.
Overall The Boilermakers' offense was explosive, scoring seven touchdowns from seven different players. Junior running back Devin Mockobee led the rushing attack going for 89 yards on 11 carriers. The Purdue defense was also dynamic, holding the Sycamores to just 154 total yards and allowing one of twelve third down conversions.
The Boilermakers have a bye week before facing off against nationally ranked Notre Dame.
