WEST LAFAYETTE, IN - SEPTEMBER 28, 2024: Homecoming for Purdue as they hosted a 4-1 unranked Nebraska team coming off a loss to Illinois the week before. Neither team could get much going on offense although Nebraska had more chances, trying for three field goals in the first half, two of them getting blocked. At the end of the half both teams were scoreless.
The Boilermakers came out in the third quarter and clipped off a 13 play 55 yard drive ending in a field goal to take the lead. Nebraska's offense retaliated taking their first drive of the half 70 yards ending with a 6 yard touchdown pass from Freshman QB Dylan Raiola to Jahmal Banks. From there the Cornhuskers never looked back, scoring another 21 unanswered points.
Purdue finally reached the end zone with 1:29 left in the game as Senior Quaterback Hudson Card found Sophomore Wide Receiver Leland Smith in the corner of the end zone for six. In the end it was too little, too late and Nebraska gave Purdue their third straight loss, 28-10.
