Purdue was coming in off of a bye week and Iowa had been having trouble scoring so expectations were high for another Boiler win. You knew it was going to be a rough day when the Boilermaker Special train stopped in it's tracks as the team ran out of the tunnel. Mother Nature also wanted to have a say in the game as Tippecanoe County was in a wind advisory, with gusts seen up to 50MPH. This created a lot of havoc with the Boilers offense and they could never get much of anything going all day. The Hawkeyes were able to run all over the Boilermakers on their way to a 24-3 victory.
