A slow start to the game, with the Cardinals striking first, but the Leathernecks did not back down as the half ended 7-7. Touchdowns between both teams within a minute of each other would keep the tie one third through the 3rd quarter. Midway through the 3rd Ball State WR Justin Hall scored on a 48 yard pass from QB Drew Plitt. Early in the 4th quarter RB Carson Steel puts on the finishing touch by running it in from 37 yards out. A field goal from the Cardinals and a late score from Western Illinois puts the final at 31-21.
