The Wisconsin Badgers have had Purdues number in football. The Boilers hadn't beaten the Badgers since 2003. Would this be the one, would this break the curse? No. The Wisconsin Badgers got off to a strong start, scoring two touchdowns. Tanner Mordecai contributed to both touchdowns with 14 and 6-yard runs, each followed by successful Nathanial Vakos kicks. The one bright spot was Purdue's kicker, Northern Indiana's own Julio Macias (West Noble), put points on the board with a 34-yard field goal, ending the quarter with a score of 14-3 in favor of the Badgers.
In the second quarter, Wisconsin continued to extend their lead, with Braelon Allen scoring a 14-yard touchdown run, and Vakos converting the kick. Purdue had it's best drive right before half, but it ended with a Hudson Card interception in the end zone and the Boilers were down 21-3 at the half.
The third quarter saw Wisconsin adding two field goals by Vakos from 38 and 22 yards, while Purdue managed to score a touchdown with a 19-yard run by Tyrone Tracy Jr., and a 6-yard run by Hudson Card at the end of the quarter. In the fourth quarter, Wisconsin added another field goal and a touchdown with a two-point conversion, sealing their victory and continuing their dominance over Purdue with a final score of 38-17.
