An interstate matchup at Mackey Arena on a cold Sunday afternoon between the Purdue Lady Boilermakers and the Indiana State Lady Sycamores. Purdue started strong scoring the first few buckets, but then a slew of turnovers allowed the Lady Sycamores to get back in and after one quarter ISU was up 21-20. The Sycamores continued to push Purdue in the second quarter, but the Lady Boilermakers hit a few threes and some free throws to go in at half 35-31.
The 2nd half started like the opening tip, with the Lady Boilermakers scoring without any answer from Indiana State. Boilermakers answered with a 3-pointer of their own. The Boilermakers locked down on defense and held the Sycamores to only 3 made baskets and 7 points in the 3rd quarter. The 3rd ended with the Boilers having a comfortable 18 point lead.
The Lady Boilermakers kept the heat on in the fourth, going on another 10-0 run and creating a lot of breathing room. From there they never looked back and coasted in the final minutes to a 77-54 victory.
