A rainy day in West Lafayette as the Golden Gophers start hot securing a fumble on Purdue's first drive after a sack of Aiden O'Connell. It takes only 4 plays for Minnesota's Tanner Morgan to find Chris Autman-Bell for the 32 yard TD. then taking that down to get the first touchdown of the day. Purdue bounces back and get a 36 yard FG from Mitchell Fineran. The Boilermakers get going in the second with a 91 yard drive capped off by 7 yard TD catch by Milton Wright from Aidan O'Connell. The Gophers get a field goal and the Boilermakers answer back with 12 seconds left in the half with a FG of their own as the two teams head into the locker rooms tied at 10.
Minnesota opened the 2nd half with a 3 play, 75 yard touchdown that could not be overcome. The rain picked up in the 3rd quarter and by the 4th it was a heavy downpour which stifled much of the passing game for both teams. The Gophers added another FG, and their defense held the Boilermakers scoreless in the 2nd half giving them the win. Final score Minnesota 20, Purdue 13.
It also took more than a few days for my shoes to dry out.
